Conference Objectives/Outcomes

After completion of the program, 90% of learners will be able to:

  • Describe ways to prevent spread of airborne pathogens.

  • Discuss misinformation and how it has impacted the spread of disease & vaccinations.

  • Identify the impacts of COVID-19 on healthcare access for high risk patients.

  • Recognize the pandemic’s impact regarding delayed diagnosis and missed preventative care.

Conference Objectives:

  • To better diagnoses and recognize the multiple presentations of Long COVID, including
    behavioral health implication

  • To be able discuss with patients the importance of preventing COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases.

  • To combat patient misinformation regarding vaccines and the risks of COVID and Long COVID.

  • To identify and reschedule patients who missed disease screenings during the pandemic.

  • To discuss how COVID-19 is spread through the air by a continuum of particle sizes.

  • To discuss with office staff other health care professionals strategies to prevent the spread of respiratory pathogens including use of N95 masks and improvement in indoor ventilation.

  • To better discuss with patients the benefits and need for vaccinations.

After attending the sessions and passing a test, 4 hrs of continuing education credits will be awarded for AMA Cat 1, social work, physical therapy, respiratory, occupational therapy, Kentucky nursing (4.8 hrs), dentistry, EMS, and Community Health Workers.

Conference Objectives/Outcomes

Understanding important evidence based strategies which have been learned during the COVID-19 epidemic.

  • Identify infection control strategies that prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 disease among both frontline workers and patients.
  • Advise retailers, schools, and others on strategies they should undertake to establish a safe workplace which protects both frontline workers and patrons.
  • Identify infectious disease infrastructure deficiencies in the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Discuss cultural and socioeconomic barriers and social disparities which place socially disadvantaged populations at increased risk of infection and severe disease.
  • Explain the risks of disability and death from not only acute COVID-19 but also the disabling effects of Long COVID

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Connecticut Nurses' Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
